Every student enrolled in CIS is monitored to observe how they are affected by the mentoring relationship. While many of the benefits are intangible (for example: increased self-esteem and improved social skills), we closely monitor the measurable outcomes through monthly site reports and an extensive End of Year Report. We also solicit feedback from our mentors in an "End of Year Mentor Evaluation." The responses and results are used to evaluate and improve our programs.

At the end of the 2008-2009 school year 391 CIS-enrolled students were being served by 234 mentors at 19 schools in the Lexington City and Davidson County school systems. We facilitated 8,383 volunteer hours, working with 103 community partners and a total of 340 volunteers to creatively meet the needs of the children of our community.
