Cis of Lexington/Davidson County is a broad-based, grass-roots program that was developed to provide much-needed individual support for public school students, kindergarten though 12th grade.  This program, founded in 1997 in the Lexington City School system serving only  two schools, merged with the Davidson County School system in 2002.

Today, Communities In Schools hosts programs in nineteen schools through Lexington City Schools and Davidson County.  We provide caring adults from the community to serve as mentores to students who are considered at-rish for not obtaining a high school diploma or achieving their potential.  We put hands in need in touch with hands that can help.
