Helping Kids Stay In School

And Prepare for Life

Communities In Schools is the nation's largest dropout prevention network, serving over one million youth in 154 communities across the United States. There are 32 operational CIS non-profit organizations across North Carolina serving over 51,000 children and their families. Our purpose is to ensure all students have the five basic resources to help them succeed:

  1. A personal one-on-one relationship
  2. A healthy start and a healthy future
  3. A safe place to learn and grow
  4. An opportunity to give back to their peers and community
  5. A marketable skill to use upon graduation
